FirstService Residential is Hiring a Controller Near Fort Lee, NJ
- Maintain day-to-day positive and productive interactions with staff
- Track staff leave requests and timesheet administration
- Responsible for hiring, discipline, performance monitor, salary adjustments, performance
- reviews for general ledger team.
- Initiate agenda for staff meetings and take the lead in running staff meetings
- Assist in training Property Managers and other staff on Accounting processes and
- procedures
- Assist staff where necessary with questions, requests
- Review financial statements, budgets and audits
- Audit Tracking and Budget Tracking
- Scheduling auditors for field work
- Facilitating resolutions to any major issues with managers, accounting staff, sites/board
- members.
- Scheduling meetings with Boards to review / respond to questions
- Ensuring all task items from meetings with Boards are completed
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or related field from an accredited college or university. CPA preferred.
- Five (5) plus years accounting experience
- Three (3) years management experience.
- Demonstrated planning and organizational skills.
- Ability to provide strong leadership, supervision and coaching, including planning and strategic direction.
- Process orientation, analytical thinking ability, and problem solving skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Must have a strong work ethic and be detail-oriented with excellent organizational and multitasking skills.
- Critical thinking, problem solving, judgement and decision-making abilities are necessary.
- Proficiency in computer programs like Microsoft Office, Outlook and Windows required.
- Ability to work with sensitive and/or confidential information.
